Sunday Worship Experience - Dr. Bruce Gross' Reflections

This morning as I was getting ready for church in America, I received this email from Dr. Bruce Gross. I think it is a simple but powerful testimony to us all.  Jon

Today is Sunday and I attended church with the Burmese students here at the training center.  It was great, even if I didn’t understand a word that was said (no interpretation today).

I recognized 2 of their songs.  What a Friend We Have in Jesus and Nothing But The Blood Of Jesus.  So, I sang along on those hymns.

The best part was being able to partake in communion with them.   It was a time that emphasized a building block of the Christian faith.

We are from different countries, different cultures, speak different languages, I’m 1 foot taller than the tallest of the students, and we are from different levels of affluence.  Yet, being so different, we are still the same.

We all have a sin problem that only the Blood of Jesus can take care of.  We all come to the foot of the cross as sinners in need of a savior.  In Christ, I am no different than any of the students, no matter how small or remote the village where they live.

Today was about Christ’s body being broken and his blood being shed for ALL of us.  This is a service I will never forget.
