The Barefoot Doctors are the medical extension of Frontier Labourers for Christ into Myanmar and Thailand. They receive medical and ministry training over a period of three years before being certified to service the medical and spiritual needs of the people in their area. Most of them serve the village people of Myanmar/Burma where there are few medical options available.
A Trip to the Zoo and then Back to Class on Monday
The Barefoot Doctor students enjoyed a nice visit to the Chiang Mai Zoo on Saturday. I found a few pictures of this on facebook to share. It looks like they had a good time. It's nice to get a break after you've been studying hard.
Then on Monday morning, medical classes began again. Here is a photo of Betty continuing to teach about sexually transmitted infections (STI), including prevention, transmission, and treatment of these infections. She then presented information on uterine tumors.
Betty Reid-White is a Registered Nurse with experience in Obstetrics Emergency, Mental Health and Addiction, Community Care and Public Health. She is from Newfoundland, Canada.
